Brush just a little light vegetable oil or mold release agent into the forms. A mold release agent is recommended, but not required. Not using a release agent will make the stone more difficult to release and you will need to be more careful about damaging the mold. However, too much release agent can cause bubbles to form on the appearance. 2. Mixing concrete: Always wear proper safety equipment (rubber gloves and anti particle face mask) when mixing concrete. Mixing can be done by hand using a proper concrete mixer, a wheelbarrow with a concrete hoe, or with a shovel in a bucket. It is very important to take the time to mix everything completely. Tip: Adding coloring to the concrete will make the stepping stones look more natural and beautiful.
